This all sounds good and viable and right. I adapted to Amazon and Walmart when I lived deep in the woods. Heck, I pretty much lived out of the garden, Walmart, and Amazon for years -- they were what was available without driving for an hour or more. So no apologies for and no concerns about doing what works for you, especially when you continuously model ethical living. There is a line, I believe from Snow Crash (or possibly SLAM!???) where the skate-delivery character tells someone "The future is concrete, you don't cry about it, you skate on it". Well I do cry about it, I also skate on it as best I can.
Lol, I love that. I too lived on Walmart and Amazon when I was living in rural eastern oregon, now that I am back in the city -- i try to source as locally as possible, but yeah, those monolithic companies will probably always get my business.
What app did you use? I need to use it... "... browser app that bulk unsubscribed..."
Since restructuring my finances, I've figured out that it isn't a "quick fix." The financial expert I suggested in a previous post suggests giving yourself up to 3 months to close an old bank account, from the date of opening a new one. Why? Because most people will forget that they've auto-subscribed to a service at the time that they make the transition- leaving the old account open for up to 90 days will HOPEFULLY help you catch any remaining stragglers. I think you could apply the same logic to your No-Buy-Year. This is a BIG change! It's normal that you might forget an item or two that you might need in the next month or so, so don't be hard on yourself. I hope you've set aside some funds for "stupid mistakes" or "emergencies only" transactions. You're doing great, keep at it!!!
I used trim box! It give you 50 free unsubscribes and then they ask you to pay. After I waited a while they offer a 50% discount! So don’t pay upfront right away, wait for the discount!
You won't fail, Britton.
Setbacks aren't failure. We adjust to situations in front of us as needed.
Just keep going. 😊
Mary, thank you for that reminder. Always an opportunity to grow, sometimes it's easy to get lost in the sauce and forget that!
